The founder and Artistic Director of LINK ensemble, cellist Ella Toovy has performed throughout the United States, Europe, Asia, Latin America, as well as in her native Israel. Noted for "the finesse of her cantabile, so well balanced with sonority and expression,” she is a frequent chamber music collaborator, with performances in New York's Carnegie, Weill, Merkin and Steinway concert halls. She has been heard on Israel's “Voice of Music" radio station, and on television in Spain, France, and Cuba. Ella holds degrees from The Manhattan School of Music, Hebrew University and the Rubin Music Academy in Israel. Nurit Pacht, Violin Violinist Nurit Pacht has toured the world to great critical acclaim as soloist in productions of stage director Bob Wilson, in performances with the dancer/choreographer Bill T. Jones and as soloist with orchestras from both sides of the Atlantic. She has performed in duo recitals with Philip Glass and premiered works by several leading composers. Nurit grew up in Texas where she made her U.S solo debut with the Houston Symphony. At the invitation of Christoph Eschenbach she was one of Ravinia's Rising Stars and has performed as soloist and in chamber music in many of the world's musical capitals including Vienna's Musikverein, Moscow's Great Hall, Washington's Kennedy Center, Carnegie's Weill Hall, The People's Hall of China in Beijing.
Re'ut Ben Ze'ev, Mezzo Soprano Re’ut Ben-Ze’ev has won critical acclaim for her “impassioned,” and “bold, committed account” (The New York Times), “intense expression and pure voice” (Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung.) She has performed standard operatic and concert repertoire as well as cutting-edge collaborations, appearing throughout Canada, Europe, Israel, and the United States in Lincoln Center, Spoleto Festival, USA, The American Academy in Berlin, the Tel-Aviv Museum of Art, The Israel Vocal Arts Institute, The Bayreuth Museum of Art, Germany, on WQXR, Kol Hamusika, and on TV internationally. Highlights of upcoming projects include appearances with the Israeli opera, The Israel Chamber Orchestra, recording early Schoenberg works for Arabesque Recordings as well as recording for the prestigious Neos-Music label in Munich, premiering S. Dembski’s opera CROW SOUP (libretto by the distinguished surrealist artist Leonora Carrington), and the role of Zarathustra in the video opera ROPE & CHASM by M. Greenbaum, staged by David Gothard of the Welsh National Theater. Ben- Ze'ev collaborates regularly with leading composers such as Samuel Adler, Pulitzer Prize winning composers David Del Tredici and Yehudi Wyner. She performed chamber music with members of the Israel and the Berlin Philharmonic, and collaborated with artists as Fred Sherry, Berlin Philharmonic's principle clarinetist KarlHeinz Steffens, actor Theodore Bickel and choreographer Yasmeen Godder. Ms. Ben-Ze’ev recorded multiple CDs for the Milken Archive of Jewish American Music on the Naxos Label, OtherMinds and YIVO label. Some of her operatic roles include Sesto (LA CLEMENZA DI TITO), Komponist (ARIADNE AUF NAXOS), Anna (DIE SIEBEN TODSÜNDEN). As a concert soloist, Ms. Ben-Ze’ev sang a wide range of repertoire as Purcell’s TE DEUM ET JUBILATE, Vivaldi’s GLORIA, Mozart’s C MINOR Mass, and Mahler’s LIEDER EINES FAHRENDEN GESELLEN, with St. Cecilia Chorus and Orchestra (David Randolph, Conductor), The Israel contemporary Players, the Arcos Chamber Orchestra, Heidelberg Symphony, ProArte Symphony, the IDF Orchestra, and Naples Orchestra among others.
A native of Ukraine, Yevgeny Faniuk immigrated to Israel in the early 90's, and later moved to the US to earn degrees at Manhattan School of Music and Carnegie Mellon University. He has been a top prize winner of several major competitions, including the First Haifa International, the Jerusalem Young Artist, the Rubin Music Academy competitions in Israel and the "Flute Talk" magazine competition in the US. Yevgeny has performed with the high ranking orchestras such as the Israel Philharmonic, the Russian National Orchestra and the Verbier Festival Orchestra. An active freelancer in the New York music scene, Yevgeny has performed chamber music at Barge Music and Merkin Hall and on tour across the US with the Windscape woodwind quintet.
Chris Nappi, Percussion Percussionist Chris Nappi has performed and recorded with Steve Reich and Musicians, the SEM Ensemble, Newband, and Ben E. King. As a composer he has created music for dance and theatre productions and multi-media installations. He can be heard on recordings for the Dog w/a Bone, Ear-Rational, Mode, New Tone, New World Records, Renè Block Editions, Tzadìk, and Wergo labels. He teaches at Adelphi University, The Manhattan School of Music, Preparatory Division, and the Ostrava Center for New Music, Czech Republic
